Chvrches’ fourth studio album ‘Screen Violence’ rules the Official Chart Update, and is the best-seller on physical formats in the first half of the chart cycle. If Screen Violence keeps its momentum, it’ll give the Scottish electronic outfit a first-ever leader and fourth Top 10. Chvrches’ band consists of Lauren Mayberry, Iain Cook, Martin Doherty and, unofficially since 2018, Jonny Scott. Mostly deriving from the synth-pop genre, Chvrches also incorporate indietronica, indie pop, and electronic dance into their sound.
Close behind is Maisie Peters’ debut studio album ‘You Signed Up For This’, at No. 2; followed by Kanye West’s long-awaited ‘Donda’ album comes in at No. 3.
